Why do women starve themselves to the point of anorexia? Why do people pay $100 for a pair of nike trainers which cost less than $1 to make? Why does my timex cost 1/10th of a rolex, yet it tells the same time? Why do girls as young as 10 feel the need to cake themselves in make-up and wear slutty clothes? How did something as ridiculous as pokemon catch on as a fad?
Its all about status. Generally, if you want the hot wife, fast car and big paycheck you gotta do things a certain way. Whether you see that as right or wrong its just the way things are.
